

Just once was enough to make the recording.LOL. One of my family tapes even snapped as I was rewinding it and had to take it apart and attach it to the reel, and of course, I was unable to get the back flap back on, but it still worked. Either way, it's better than old VHS videos. It's actually better because it preserves them on the laptop and you can either make a DVD for backup storage or record to a flash drive. The VidBox is very easy to use though, no big problem setting it up and easy to follow instructions as it leads you through the setup. I could definitely play them on my MBP on which they were recorded, so again, it might be some incompatibility with old and new technology, but it did give me a way to preserve old family videos. The only problem, and it might be the DVDs, is that some of the DVDs would not play on a DVD player to view on TV.
